Infrared or traditional: plan the installation first

Compare local configuration and installation requirements without health rankings.

Choose the experience you want, then compare documented installation conditions and package scope. Infrared and traditional are product types, not automatic wiring or room-size guarantees.

Compare the heater system actually supplied

Infrared cabinets use their published emitter system; traditional packages use a specified stove or heater arrangement. A product named “Hybrid” may describe full-spectrum infrared rather than a traditional stove combined with infrared. Read the components.

Our Finnmark FD-2 record treats Hybrid 2.0 as a full-spectrum infrared model, consistent with its manufacturer sheet. It does not assume an additional traditional heater from the marketing name.

Compare space and supply separately

A smaller cabin can require more overhead or service access than another cabin. A 120V infrared product can need a specialised dedicated connection. A traditional package can be sold with several heater options.

Use exterior dimensions for an initial screen, then compare the exact installation requirements. Do not treat a temperature claim, capacity label or heater wattage as evidence that a particular room is suitable.

Keep comfort and health claims outside a specification verdict

We have not measured heat distribution, comfort, emissions or health outcomes in these cabins. Manufacturer statements and dimensions cannot establish a personal health benefit or prove how a sauna feels in use.

A useful shortlist shows what is known, what conflicts and what needs confirmation. Try the intended sauna experience where possible, and request the written local warranty and installation scope before ordering.

Build a comparable shortlist

Choose two local configurations that suit the intended placement, then compare three things: the full documented space requirement, the selected supply arrangement and the package scope. Record unresolved fields alongside the advantages rather than hiding them in a general “best” score.

A specification comparison can identify a known mismatch before you spend time obtaining a quote. It cannot establish which experience you will prefer. Use the comparison to organise the practical decision and keep preference and unmeasured performance separate.
