Decide whether you are buying an extra seat or extra personal room
Start with the usual use case: one person seated, two people at once, or one person wanting more freedom to move. These are different priorities. A nominal two-person cabin may be attractive for solo use, but the label alone does not establish a comfortable posture or how much usable bench remains around heaters.
Write down the positions that matter to you and ask for the exact bench dimensions and interior layout. If you want to recline, request the usable clear length in that position. Do not infer it from the exterior diagonal or from a photograph of a different size in the series.
Separate the exterior box from the occupied interior
The outside dimensions are useful for the room screen. The interior drawing answers a different question: where you can sit relative to the supplied heaters, door and other fittings. Wall construction and component placement mean the exterior is not a seating measurement.
The Logan and Hillsboro product pages publish their own exterior and bench information. Use the exact drawing to check your priorities, and keep comfort as a personal question rather than a score derived from the number of advertised seats. We have not sat in or measured these cabins.
Do not assume that the extra seat changes the supply in a predictable way
The sample Logan and Hillsboro base packages both record a 6kW heater and a published 30A supply requirement. That is one concrete reason not to assume that moving from one person to two always doubles the power requirement, or that a one-person cabin will use an ordinary plug.
Other product families differ. Compare the selected heater and exact local configuration each time, including any lighting supply. Two products that share a voltage may still require different plugs or circuits; a capacity label does not answer the electrical question.
Compare the upgrade as a project, not just a price difference
Place both exterior envelopes on the room plan in the intended orientation. Add each model’s documented installation conditions and keep missing values visible. Check whether the larger cabin changes the delivery route, assembly method or room left for maintenance.
Then compare dated quotes with equivalent scope. An upgrade may change more than the cabin price, but a bigger cabin does not automatically incur every possible cost. Keep quoted differences and unresolved items separate instead of applying a generic upgrade percentage.
| Your priority | Ask for | Do not assume |
|---|---|---|
| Two people at once | Usable bench layout and heater clearances | A standard width per person |
| Room to recline | Clear usable length in the intended posture | The exterior diagonal is available |
| A compact installation | Exterior plus complete installation conditions | One-person means plug-in or zero wall gap |
| Lower running cost | Rated input and a comparable usage scenario | Seat count predicts the bill |
Use an exact pair to make the choice concrete
The Logan/Hillsboro comparison focuses on a compact one-person traditional package versus a two-person package from the same seller. The Equinox 2/3 comparison instead keeps the advertised heating family consistent while changing capacity. These are more useful starting points than a universal “always buy the bigger one” rule.
Ask the seller to confirm the arrangement for your intended use before you commit. If possible, experience a comparable seating layout, but do not treat another owner’s body size or a generic testimonial as your fit measurement. The directory provides specification research, not a comfort trial.
The local records behind these examples
A limited research sample, not a best-product ranking. Dimensions and rated input use the same records as the tools.
