Sun Home Equinox 2 vs Equinox 3

Equinox 2 or Equinox 3? Compare US exterior dimensions, shared supply labels, different rear conditions and usable-seating questions.

Compare the wider recorded Equinox 3 envelope with the Equinox 2 before choosing by the seat label. The listed base supply and plug match, but width, rated input, price and rear-allowance evidence need their own checks.

Rectangles are bounding envelopes, including for the corner-shaped Sutton; they are not usable floor area, exact cabin outlines or full installation plans. Door swing, overhang details and service allowances require separate checks.

These are manufacturer and seller specifications. Missing installation requirements remain unresolved; neither model is declared the universal winner. We have not tested heat distribution, comfort or reliability.

Choose the extra capacity only after defining the use

Both are marketed within the same full-spectrum indoor family, which makes this a more focused capacity comparison than two unrelated products. Decide whether the intended benefit is another person seated at once or more personal room during solo use. Those are not interchangeable requirements.

The Equinox 3 record has a wider exterior; the current depth and height match in these two records. The diagram below is a same-scale bounding-envelope comparison. It does not show bench geometry, usable reclining length or heater clearances around a person. Ask for the exact interior drawing if those determine the purchase.

A common supply label still needs a package check

The current US base records share their published voltage, supply requirement and plug type. Their recorded rated inputs differ. Compare those fields separately rather than assuming that moving from two advertised seats to three must require a different outlet or have the same running cost.

Source gaps such as frequency and the actual site’s supply remain unresolved. An optional powered accessory, package change or different revision needs its own confirmation. Matching the listed base connection does not approve an existing outlet or an upgraded setup.

The larger cabin does not inherit the smaller cabin’s allowances

The Equinox owner instructions distinguish the rear allowance for the two sizes. Use the exact rear entry for each model, alongside its other documented space requirements. Do not take the smaller convenient value from another row in the family manual.

Enter the same room measurements for both configurations and review the second-layer installation output. A room can clear both exterior rectangles and still have an unanswered front-access or service question. A wider cabin can also change the route and handling plan even where the final room remains adequate.

Compare the upgrade cost on the same scope

Use dated quotes for the selected two- and three-person configurations with equivalent delivery, assembly and powered equipment. The recorded price is a reference to the captured offer, not a live discount or a complete installed total.

If Equinox 2 already addresses the requested seating layout, the added width must justify itself against your room and budget. If another seat is essential, ask the seller to confirm the usable arrangement in the larger model. We have not tested either cabin’s comfort, heat distribution or reliability.
